Day 16 - January 22, 2023
A nice quiet Sunday today. Went out later in the day to a coffee shop and then had dinner with Brandon at a Georgian restaurant once he finished work for the day. After dinner we visited the Baiterek tower and went up to the top. The view wasn't as good as we hoped because of the type of glass used and the reflections of the lights inside the tower, probably would have been better during the day. Still, it was cool to see the city with the night lights on.

| At the very top of the tower there is a plaque with one of Nursultan Abishuly Nazarbayev's hand prints molded into it. Nursultan was the first president of Kazakhstan when they broke off from the USSR in 1991. Apparently you go up there and make a wish while placing your hand inside his hand print. |
